Dental emergencies may result in pain, pressure, discomfort, embarrassment, or frustration. Some dental emergencies include:

  • Broken or fractured tooth
  • Gingival bleeding
  • Knocked out tooth
  • Gum swelling
  • Tooth pain
  • Broken dental work

Broken Tooth?

Teeth may break or fracture in various situations. Deep decay or dental trauma are likely to cause breakage in the teeth.

A fractured tooth should be examined right away. Some fractured teeth may be restored with fillings or dental crowns. Severe fractures may need to be treated with root canal therapy or may need to be removed. The earlier you seek help for a fractured tooth, the more conservative treatment will be.

Gum or Facial Swelling

There is likely an infection present. The infection must be immediately treated with antibiotics or extraction. Contact Lakeville Dental right away to get much-needed attention before the infection spreads and causes pain.

Mild gum swelling may not be due to an infection, but simply to gum disease. We can use deep cleaning processes here at Lakeville Dental to restore your gum health. Whether gingivitis or infection is the cause of your swelling, immediate treatment is important to avoid further complications.

Knocked Out Tooth

If your tooth got knocked out, you may be desperate for an immediate assistance. The sooner you visit our office, the better chance we have at saving the natural tooth. Place the tooth back into the socket or into a baggie of milk and bring it into our office. We will fill in that space in your smile to protect your smile’s aesthetic and function.

Regardless of the situation, our team is here to respond promptly with effective treatment. We want you to leave our office with a beautiful smile on your face! If you are suffering from toothache or another dental emergency, contact Lakeville Dental right away.
